How old are you?
22 years old, will be 23 on March 28th.
Where are you from? What’s special about your hometown?
I’m from Hilton, New York just outside the city of Rochester, New York.
What position are you playing for the Rangers?
I’m playing outside linebacker for the Rangers.
What is the crucial skill for your position?
Since outside linebacker in our defense is off-the-ball, being able to move fast and quick in open space is crucial.
What Football skills are you best at?
My skills in pass covergae are probably my best. In my four years of playing at Alfred Unviersity I had 8 interceptions and 10 passes defended.
Why are you playing football instead of any other sports?
I’ve played football ever since I was 7 years old and fell in love ever since. No other sport appealed to me or gave me satisfaction as much as football.
Who’s your favourite NFL player and why?
There a lot of players in the NFL I’ve enjoyed watching over the years but the two that I’ve admired the most are Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Brett Favre was the reason I became a Green Bay Packers fan and Aaron Rodgers followed him with just as much success.
What was your greatest success in life?
My greatest success related to football would be earning All-American honors at the Division III level. After only being recruited by two Division III teams coming out of high school, becoming an All-American embodied the amount of time and hard work I invested in becoming the player I am today.
Where did you start playing football?
I started playing football when I was 7 years old for the Ogden Bears, a Pop Warner team in Spencerport, New York.
What other sports are you or have you been playing?
I played lacrosse for a couple years and stop playing after my freshman year of high school. I also played baseball and wrestled for a year before high school. I like to play basketball recreationally.
Why did you choose Austria? Was it because of the country or because of the team itself?
I mainly chose Austria because the Rangers were the only organization that reached out to me about playing after I was done playing in college. Like most players after they finish playing college football, I have a dream of one day playing as a professional back home, so any opportunity I get that helps that dream I take. Being able to experience living in a new country and explore Austria and potentially more of Europe was an added bonus.
What do you want to see or learn about Austria?
I want to see as many places as I can while I’m here. Not many people get the opportunity to see the world outside of where they are from, so visiting tourist attractions, making new connections and meeting new people are things I want to take advantage of while I’m here.
What are your goals for this season (beside winning the championship)?
For team goals, I want to play at a high enough level to help the team win games and allow the players around me to play at a high level as well. For personal goals, I’d like play well enough to hopefully be recognized by teams back in the states to help obtain my dream.
Who was the first person of the team you met?
The first people I met on our team was our Quarterback Benny and our other American import Austin.
Anything else you’d like to tell the rangers community?
Just that I’ve dealt with a lot of adversity when it comes to football and had a lot of people doubt me. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to play for a professional team like the Rangers and I won’t take this opportunity for granted.
